Part Time Reference Librarians

The Moorestown Public Library is seeking two dynamic librarians to join its reference team. The ideal candidates will be customer service oriented, have outstanding communication skills, and possess the ability to answer a variety of questions with enthusiasm in a reference department serving patrons of all ages.  Comfort level with current and emerging technologies is a must.

Hours: 23 hours per week including one evening per week and one Saturday per month.

Previous public library experience preferred.

Preference given to Moorestown residents. Subject to NJ civil service rules and eligibility.

Required qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.  Students nearing completion of a degree will be considered. The successful candidates must possess or be eligible for the New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate.

Part Time Librarian – Children’s/Teen

Responsibilities include assisting patrons with reference questions; planning, preparing and presenting children’s programs; collection development; and working on special projects as needed.

Hours: This part-time position includes 24 hours per week, including one evening per week and one to two Saturdays per month.

Required qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.  Students nearing completion of a degree will be considered. The successful candidate must possess or be eligible for the New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate Previous public library experience preferred.
